TREND ALERT SPRING 2012: COLOR BLOCKING

Color Blocking is combining different colors that support and compliment each other. I’m loving this trend and looking to create and buy pieces that can be mixed and matched together to achieve this style. Are you brave enough to try it? Here are some ideas.

Golden Globes 2012: OUT WITH THE BOLD –IN WITH THE NUDE!

One of my favorite nights in fashion – The Golden Globes. It is the perfect time to get a feel for up and coming styles and trends in fashion. This year, one thing is for sure –nude is on trend. What a buffet there was of nude hues I absolutely loved! This rich color complements the theme of my boutique so well; warm nudes and natural colors are so feminine. Here are some of my favorite looks….

Charlize Theron -Isn’t this gown just dreamy? She gets it rights all the time! I am a little bit over the plunging neckline detail but it works on this piece. From the sequin headband to her elegant train, Charlize looks classically beautiful in this gown.

Heidi Klum – Effortless Beauty! I love this gown, it’s simple yet still sexy and plays up all of Heidi’s curves in a tasteful way. Front to back, this dress is stunning. It was also refreshing to see a gown that was not ridiculously trained or fishtailed but still pulled it’s weight on the red-carpet. Way to go Heidi!

Sofia Vergara -Well, this gown isn’t nude but I absolutely adore it! The bottom is just extraordinary and it complements Sofia’s shape perfectly without overpowering her.

Jessica Biel -While some have criticized this dress as an epic fail, I disagree. I think the lace is very pretty and has a vintage feel that I love. The overall cut of the gown is breathtaking. Perhaps with a bit more oomph to her hair, (soft updo) and glittery shoes this gown would’ve looked more youthful on her.
